i need a safe home - adopting a special needs cat

My name is Jeannie and I’m a white, spayed, 2 year old. I was an orphan from hurricane Jeanne last year. I was taken to a veterinarian for care and was given as a gift to the wonderful home I live in now. My special need is that I’m totally blind in one eye and limited sight in the other. (Jr. Cataracts). My family is splitting up and my adoptive mom is unable to take me with them.

I am very lovable and get around like I can see. Most people can’t tell unless they look in my eyes. I like to follow my mom around and sit beside her when she is relaxing and sleep above her head on the pillow when we go to bed.

I live with 2 other animals in the household and get along perfectly with them. One is a 4 year old Tabby cat and the other is a Pit Bull.

I am crate trained during the day and I don’t eat a whole lot. I need a special person who needs someone for a companion. I am also housebroken. I go outside by myself and know where I am by walking the distance of the sidewalk to the grass. I don’t bark at all either unless there is a good reason. I run around the house and know exactly where I’m going. Once I learn where everything is in my new home, I will be fine.

I don’t really like small children much because they are always picking at me or chasing me. I need a calm environment. If you can help my old family find me a new home, I would be so happy. It is already very hard on them to have to give me up.

If you have an interest in me or know someone who might, please contact me.
